Mark and Arlene Wren of Wrenovations Stained Glass Creations are well known in the Downeast area for their stained glass artwork. What may not be known is that we have always had a large garden and fruit trees which our honey bees happily pollinate. The bountiful produce is stored in the root cellar, canned or frozen to sustain us until the next growing season begins once again. Over time, we have been able to expand our apiary of bee hives and bed of garlic. As usual, one thing leads to another, and with all this beeswax and honey around, we also began to produce beeswax candles and a variety of hand soap. We are pleased that we have been able to produce enough to allow us to provide these products on the Eat Local Eastport Co-op.
