To log on to Harvest to Market and place an order, start by going to http://www.harvesttomarket.com

Once there, enter your e-mail address and password. Then select Vermont and Food Works as your market. Once you have made it into the market you can shop as you would any online store. Add items to your basket and check out when you are done. You can update your orders until Monday morning at 8 am for a Wednesday delivery. Any orders received after this time will default to the next week.

When you pick up your food an official invoice will be in the box. Invoices are expected to be paid within 30 days of delivery. Invoices not paid within 30 days of delivery will incur a 1% interest charge every month that they are unpaid.

Recipe of the Week

Fancy Fourth Radish and Herbed Goat Cheese Spread

Serves: 6

INGREDIENTS

6oz or 1 small log Goat Cheese
4-6 finely chopped or sliced Radishes ~ any variety
¼ cup Parsley
Juice of ¼ Lemon
Salt and Pepper to taste

METHOD

1. Mix ingredients together and serve with bread, chips, or raw veggies. Cheese may mix more easily if warmed on a stove.

Good Morning!

Be sure to get some Red Leafy Lettuce from Mimi over at Wellspring Farm this week. Other not to miss products include Baby Rainbow Chard and Fresh Curly Parsley from Gaylord Farm, as well as hydroponic Basil from Santa Davida Farm.

It’s come to our attention over here at Food Works that while many people are truly interested in eating fresh for their health, many lack the skills, time, or initiative to cook nutritious meals for themselves or their families. Many are more apt to reach for the “instant meal’ and pop it in the microwave. Obviously the foods they end up reaching for, those pre-packaged meals with less prep time, are usually much less healthy than, say, a local, organic alternative. But sometimes there just isn’t time. Some days you just don’t have the energy to do all that prep-work for dinner and that is completely fine. But why not have some Vermont grown frozen veggies lying around for days like this? Our VT Frozen Shredded Zucchini, Corn on the Cob, and Squash Medley are perfect for lazy days and novice cookers. Other almost ready to serve products include our three different varieties of veggie burgers, VT Gold Goldburgers, VT Bean Crafters OKARA Burgers, and VT Bean Crafters Black Bean Burgers, as well as ready-to-eat Rhapsody Teriyaki Tempeh and BBQ Tempeh.

We also are still offering a large variety of greens, so scoop them up! You can’t have too much!

The market is always open! We will be accepting orders for June 19th until Monday morning at 8am, after which the market will remain open but orders will default to the next week.

- Buying clubs are now being asked to meet a $50 minimum to have their orders shipped out on the truck. Don’t fear! If your buying club does not meet this minimum, you are encouraged to still order as an individual, but will need to make time to pick up your order yourself at 5 Home Farm Way in Montpelier.
