Winter radishes are grown for storage and use throughout the winter. They tend to be more spicy in the fall when first harvested, and to mellow in flavor by spring. The mix may include Green Meat or Shinden Risoh mini daikons, watermelon, and/or Round Black Spanish, which is quite spicy. ,Most are larger than the typical summer radish.

These beauties are purple inside and out, and don't lose their lovely color when cooked. Slower to size up in the growing season than regular sweet potatoes, so most are more slender than average and will cook a bit more quickly.
