Summer Schedule begins next week!

This Saturday the 29th will be the final indoor market of the season in the Grange Hall in West Farmington.

Farmington's farmers' markets will kick off the summer season next weekend, with a Friday market 9-2 on Front St., across from the Better Living Center. Next Saturday's market will be at the FIDDLEHEAD FESTIVAL at UMF on the 6th of May. Starting the 13th of May, Farmington's Saturday market will move to its summer location, in the courthouse parking lot on Main Street, 9am-noon.

Western Maine Market order pick-up will be available at each of these markets, and starting next week, Friday order pick-up will move across the street from the BLC to noon - 2 pm at the market for the season. Hours & days for our other locations remain the same.

Irish Shortbread: Traditional shortbread cookies of Ireland which my Irish granny made slightly more coarse and chewy than the shortbread from across the Irish Sea in Scotland. Lots of butter and a tad less sugar than the Scots use. I bake with King Arthur flours and put honey in recipes as much as possible instead of lots of sugar.

Oatmeal Raisin: Traditional cookies, chewy.
often it's our own honey until we run out and take more off the hives mid summer.

Concord Grape Jelly: Traditional flavor of a concord grape, these lovely grapes are homegrown naturally- large and thick of essence. Better than the store varieties, we think!

Fresh Peach Jam: Peaches, sugar, pectin. No sprays, our own naturally grown peaches.

Quince Jelly: Delightful - delicate flavor, quince fruit ripens in lots of hot and dry weather which we had this summer. All natural, picked locally with excitement to find them producing so well this year. A late autumn fruit. Quinces originate from Spain.

Raspberry Jam: We make this jam with our homegrown raspberries, all natural.

Sweet Cherry Jam: Our own cherries from the Siberian Sweet Cherry Tree. Made with sweet cherries, pectin, sugar. spring water
