Montreal Style Poppy Seed Bagels
Menu Group: Food
Section: Baked Goods
Vendor: Beehive Bakery
Our Montreal Style bagel using our sourdough starter, honey, King Arthur Special flour, olive oil, spring water. Poppy seeds throughout. And on top of course. The boiling bath of a few small spoons of our own bees honey is the distinguishing factor in The Montreal bagel. We’re this recipe for all our bagels. A New York bagels boiling bath has traditionally lye added to it. We use natural substances and approve Montreal’s recipe.

A fabulous recipe from the 1940's ...sweet, tart, complex ...wonderful! GREAT story! Billy Mills, the originator of this recipe, was the band director for the Fibber McGee and Molly Show, the most popular show in the early '40's! Time honored First Prize winner! This is MY favorite to dress up a great baked potato.
