New Bag Law
Do you know about the new bag law that went into effect last week in Maine?

If your order is large enough to require a grocery bag and you wish to receive it in a single-use bag, please add a 5 cent bag fee so we can comply with Maine's bag law. We are happy to work with customers to use your own bags or share bags of ours if you will return them. We already use a cloth bag exchange system with many of our regular customers.

Feel free to email Deborah at info@westernmainemarket.com or text to 207-860-0703 to discuss the matter or make arrangements. We are trying to do our part to preserve natural resources!

Sugarsnap peas - edible pods: Peas with edible pods, just pull off the stem. Snap peas are bigger and sweeter than snow peas.
According to the Fedco Seeds catalog Sugarsnaps are, “One of the very best raw treats in the garden, far tastier than the dwarf varieties…. Pods reach superb sweetness only when completely filled. Then they are incomparable.” Most commercial growers grow “dwarf” snap pea varieties, since the shorter plants require less work to grow. Try these Sugarsnaps for a real pea-lover’s treat!
