(Pictured) Oh so delicious! Tree-ripened peaches.

Vendor: Porter Hill Farm

Peaches - seconds: Not fully ripe or with small area of softness. From our orchard where only organic approved spray is used - kaolin clay just after petal fall is the only spray used to deter plum curculio.

Tree ripened peaches: "Either Red Haven or Elberta-Burbank or a mix of both. Both great eating! Some are fully ripe, others need a few days on the window sill to ripen. Prolong the shelf life of ripe fruit by refrigerating. Grown without pesticide sprays. A pound is about 3-4 peaches."

Great in tabouleh or just about anything. Not just a garnish or flavoring, parsley deserves to be considered as a green vegetable all on its own. It also improves the smell of your breath.

Med to large for summer cabbage. Beautiful round heads with mildly sweet leaves that are excellent fresh, or stir fried.

Grown using IPM, Integrated Pest Management, starting with row cover, and using minimal pesticides when the swede midge is detected in the field. Swede midge is specially harmful to broccoli but all brassica crops can be affected. Fortunately cabbage does not require as much spraying as other brassicas like broccoli.

Medium green cucumbers

Vendor: Rasmussen Farm

Boothby's Blonde slicing cuke: Lovely yellow slicing cucumbers, shaped more like pickling cukes--plump and 3-4" long. Fedco says: "Larger seed cavities than most cukes, but the seeds actually add to the mild sweet flavor that makes the fruits so good for eating out of hand. Boothby's usually lacks the bitter aftertaste so common in many of the other white cukes we've trialed. Has the cool texture uncommon in American cukes."
