Thanksgiving schedule
.
Western Maine Market will operate as usual next week: place your order on Wednesday the 19th of November to receive it Friday the 21st or Saturday the 22nd. For Thanksgiving week, we move up our schedule by two days: order on Monday or early Tuesday to receive your order Wednesday the 26th, BEFORE Thanksgiving. We will not deliver orders on Friday the 28th.
Farmington Farmers' Market will be operating as usual on Saturday both the 22nd and 29th, with no in-person Wednesday market. Western Maine Market will offer pick-up at market on the 29th, but those orders would need to be placed by Tuesday the 25th.

Beautiful farm fresh eggs! From our friends Amanda and her mom Melanie! Amanda is a seriously developmentally challenged young adult, and with her mom's help, tending the chickens and gathering eggs is her job! Melanie and Amanda have a small farm in Farmington, near Walmart. We have used eggs from their little farm for years and we appreciate supporting Amanda's special travel fund!
Extra large sized eggs! For when a "Large" egg isn't quite enough! Significantly larger than regular large eggs ...large eggs weigh 55-60 grams and extra large are 65 grams and up! Golden yolks just like regular large eggs.
Nice large eggs, different shades of brown, some white ...and the occasional green one! Our older layers are still giving us nice eggs, and the new flock is now laying more actual large and nice large eggs, more large than mediums and smalls! They are all enjoying goodies: veggie scraps - coming from the House AND EXTRA greens and trimmings from cooking.

A nut-free version of a delicious recipe from the Silver Palate that has been our go-to stuffing for many years. Local sausage & onions, local and/or organic apples, sauteed in sweet butter; our home-baked corn-, wheat-, and French bread, and parsley, sage, and thyme. Nut lovers may wish to add pecans or pecan meal.
You can stuff a bird with it or cook it covered in a casserole dish at 325 for 30 to 45 minutes, preferably surrounded by a larger pan of water to keep it moist.
