Not All Crops
are Successful
Unfortunetly our strawberry
crop has succumbed to
the effects of the long
draught, bugs and birds.

Yesterday I caught three
waxwing birds in under
or netting. Sneaky birds.

In the late afternoon
I harvested what berries
looked good and removed
the netting.
You can see from the picture
above that the waxwings
moved right in indulge.
Like A Child
The garden is now in it's childhood phase, where it is sweet to walk through, each plant is a shade of green. Healthy, young and full of life.

As we grow into a new month so will our sweet babied plants. They will morph into productive machines, and take on the weathered aging appearance of a serious middle aged man.

The army of pest are out there...waiting for the vine plants to be uncovered from their protective tunnel. Soon we must uncover them as they are pushing out they're tendrils through the sides, and their canopy of leaves are pushing up on the top.

Chores for the coming week will be putting up netting for the pole beans and cucumber plants to climb on, pinching the tops of the snapdragon seedlings, and the dreaded weeding. The weeds are not out of control but soon could be if not aggressively dealt with.
Next Week is Vacation Week!
Snap peas are close to plumping up, so we listed them along with our lilium flowers.
Beet greens are back, arugula, and the last of the mixed lettuce will be harvested this week.
Kale is out of control, producing large leaves even though we harvest every week.

No deliveries to Thos. Moser's the week of the July sixth.
