Delightfully Surprised
Our ground is glacial till soil or what some refer to as clay soil.
Preparing to work on a garden bed can sometimes be a chore that I delay if I suspect that the soil will be heavy and clumpy. This was the case of a bed that was planned for the dry beans, it had not been worked for a couple of years as perennials and annual flowers had been grown there. The hundred foot long bed needed to have compost and fertilizer added, then worked in with the broad fork.

What a delight it was once I got to work on the bed and found that the soil was looser and not at all hard to turn over. The job is done, beans are planted and onward we go to the next task.

Our second crop of spinach, radishes and beets have sprouted quickly with the showers that have graced us this last week.
Perennial flowers are starting to bloom, the tomato and pepper plants are flowering, and the strawberry plants are setting fruit.

This will be the last week for asparagus.

May your week be filled doing the endeavor's you love, and good food.
