Let It Grow
The garden in June is filled with green-colored plants of all shapes and sizes that will become fresh food for our tables. There is no instant gratification.
We must be patient and wait for them to grow, develop and bloom in their own time. For a farmer, that part provides as much enjoyment as tasting the first crisp radish, baby carrot or red ripe strawberry.

This week we plan to put in the last round of crucifer and flowering annual seedlings, along with a variety of colored gladiolus bulbs that were just delivered. We will also work on the beds for our vine crops now that our delivery of organic compost has arrived. Once these chores are done, the plan is not to keep planting repeat crops like we have in the past, except for lettuce.

Peonies are starting to bloom and will be offered in our bouquets this week. We will have lettuce, radishes, swiss chard, kale, collard greens and rhubarb available.
Additionally, we'll offer Timberwoods Mushrooms at our stand.

Enjoy the week and eat well.
