The July Phase
Happy harvesting days are finally here! We’ve officially reached that exciting milestone of picking sweet shell peas every other day, and very soon, we will be adding juicy blueberries and vibrant raspberries into the mix.
Speaking of our raspberry patch, it is still happily recovering from that mysterious die-back a couple of years ago. Whether it was the drought or just a little farmer-error, some secrets are best left to nature.
Our mulching progress slowed down just a bit this week as we near the very end of our wood chip pile. The grand finale of the chips will be saved for our extra-weedy spots, which just means our routine "weeding strolls" will become a lovely part of our daily walkabouts until we can secure a new load.
We have just one last garden bed to conquer and get under control! Our long-lived thyme bed has gone crazy wild, with oregano, chives, and thyme madly taking over and spilling unruly into the walkways on both sides. This project is definitely on the schedule for the next cool, crisp day. It promises to be a fantastic session of garden therapy, as we get to playfully beat the dirt out of the roots of those runaway plants. Would you like to join us for some of this free therapy?
On another note, I must admit I painted a bit of a dreary picture of our pac choi last week! They really don't look that bad, so go ahead and take a chance on them—they will be absolutely delicious in your summer stir-fries and salads.
To spread a little extra joy, we have hidden a couple of fun freebies in this week's vegetable offerings that unlock with a minimum purchase. Just be sure to spot them and add them to your cart.
The summer heat has coaxed our broccoli into putting out smaller heads for now, but fortunately, this wonderful variety is known for producing abundant side shoots. There is still plenty of hope for more delicious broccoli to come later in the season!
Best of all, the garden is absolutely bursting at the seams with fresh blooms! Snapdragons, sunflowers, statice, cosmos, and so many other gorgeous annuals are about to pop. Treat yourself to a little beauty this season and brighten your home with our budget-friendly bouquets!
Enjoy the local bounty of the Maine season wherever you shop!

A quick note on availability:
Please keep in mind that we’ve cut back on our vegetable production this year, so many of our items are limited! The quantities listed are our best estimates of what we expect to harvest. Mother Nature loves surprises, so sometimes we end up with a little more, and sometimes a little less than expected. We appreciate your understanding and support!.
