Tight Week Ahead
A couple of days away from the homestead are planned for this farmer! On Saturday, we worked hard to ready the garden for my absence—you would think a garden could live without a human for a day or two!

Blueberries and radishes needed picking, and we harvested a couple of small cauliflowers. We also watered the hoop houses, and because Mother Nature has been unreliable in the rain department lately, some of our sensitive outdoor crops got a good soaking too.

We got the fabric put up inside the tomato hoop house in hopes of keeping out the tomato hornworm moth. Best of all, I spotted some of our larger tomatoes turning color. Woo-hoo!

We have a few new items listed on the website this week, and my absolute favorite is the onions. We consume a lot of onions in our household and love enjoying our own for most of the year. The scallion greens are really large now, but they are still holding great color and looking beautiful.

We expect to have sunflower blooms in the bouquets this week, along with the first of the snapdragons. The green beans are in full bloom, and as long as no critters find them, we should have them ready for you next week.

We have also listed a limited offering of baby carrots and baby beets this week; they are small but incredibly tasty.

Additionally, a chance planting of Rover radishes has delivered a delicious crop. Much to our surprise, they aren't overly hot, despite the many days of high heat they grew in.

Enjoy the week, and may you eat lots of delicious local food!

A quick note on availability:
Please keep in mind that we’ve cut back on our vegetable production this year, so many of our items are limited! The quantities listed are our best estimates of what we expect to harvest. Mother Nature loves surprises, so sometimes we end up with a little more, and sometimes a little less than expected. We appreciate your understanding and support!.
