Growing our Inventories!
Spring has definitely sprung, and many of us are SO eager for the new growing season. Our inventories are reflecting that. It always amazes me that such a small group of farmers and growers, can produce such a diversity of goods. As a farmer myself, it's a very empowering experience. I will speak for all of our farmers in saying thank you! We hope that you will keep empowering your own health and community, for many years to come!
Featured Recipe: Beef Brutus.
We needn't fear the Ides of March any longer. It's time for the grill to be out, and the salad chilling in the fridge. This is a simple Steak Ceasar salad. You can order both the steak and the lettuce, directly from our farmers.

Beef Brutus:

1 lb strip steak
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
salt, to taste
8 ounces romaine
2 ounces arugula or cress

Your favorite ceasar dressing

Garnish with

parmesan cheese (optional)

Directions:

1
Trim fat from steak. Cut steak lengthwise in half and then crosswise into 1/4-inch thick strips.
2
Combine beef, garlic, oil and pepper. Toss to coat. Heat large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
3
Add beef (half at a time) and stir-fry 1-2 minutes or until outside surface is no longer pink. (Do not overcook.) Steak can also be grilled whole.
4
Remove from skillet. Season with salt as desired.
5
In large bowl, combine beef with lettuce. Toss lightly.
6
Sprinkle with croutons and parmesan cheese, if desired. Serve immediately.
