New Vendor

Ferme Louis
We are a small diversified vegetable and berry farm practicing organic-adjacent and sustainable agriculture. Ferme Louis is all about closing the gap; getting our food supply closer to the earth and closer to the people. We pour our hearts into everything we do, and we think you’ll see the difference.

On the land, we practice ‘organic-adjacent’ agriculture. What does that mean? We use all organic certified amendments (think and pest control and fertilizer), grow cover crops that give back to our natural ecosystem, and do our best to use as few plastic products as we possibly can.

Vegetables
We grow a wide range of vegetables and herbs, from the basics like cucumbers and tomatoes to specialty crops like endive and radicchio.

Fruit
We grow a variety of early, mid, and late season fruit, including raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, rhubarb and apples.

Free Range Eggs
Our flock of hens have the freedom to range about the farm year round. They lay white, brown, and green-blue eggs with the most beautiful golden yolks you’ve ever had.

Purple plums. Purple when fully ripe or over ripe. Best when still red/yellow - still sweet and less prone to softening as they are when over ripe. Sprayed only at pedal fall with a kaolin spray to discourage the plum curculio.
Most need a few days on your window sill to ripen fully, but are edible now if you like them more tangy.

Use it like spinach - raw or cooked. Find recipes here: www.yummly.com/recipes/tatsoi.
Specialty Produce.com says: "Tatsoi is a very versatile green and may used similarly to spinach, raw, steamed, sauteed, braised or stir fried. It makes an excellent accompaniment to other salad greens such as spinach, arugula, watercress, pea tendrils and mizuna. Its tangy and peppery notes pair well with citrus, crisp cool ingredients such as apple, fennel and mint, warm flavors that are abundantly found in chiles, garlic and allspice. Pair tatsoi with ingredients rich in umami such as scallops, mushrooms, seaweed, sesame and braised meats. Fermented ingredients such as fish sauce, soy sauce and vinegars are also complimentary matches." http://www.specialtyproduce.com/produce/Tatsoi_532.php
