They are all enjoying goodies: veggie scraps - coming from the House AND EXTRA greens and trimmings from cooking.

Small and Pullet eggs are minis ...three equal approximately 2 large eggs for recipe planning. Golden yolks just like eggs from our older birds ...and the new girls will be laying larger eggs soon! The new flock are Light Brahmas, a couple Auracana's, and Silver Laced Wyandottes!

For baking we use the standard measure ...hand shake thoroughly and then measure! 1 large egg is 3 ¼ tablespoons ...2 = 6 ½ tablespoons, etc!

Aronia, also known as Chokeberry, is native to N. America and thrives in our area! The shrubs are decorative, sturdy, virtually disease free and not attractive to insect pests. The flavor of aronia is rich and robust and similar to the flavor of black currants. Makes a good addition to smoothies, and for jams, jellies, and pies (recipe included)!

Aronia is rich in antioxidants, matching or exceeding the medicinal value of elderberries. Historically Native Americans used aronia to fight infections. The black berries and their juice will stain so protecting surfaces is essential!

Aji Limon a.k.a. Hot Lemon Peruvian peppers! Related to Habaneros! Brilliant yellow, with a unique citrus flavor. Right up there in the hot department! Beautiful and dangerous!

Apple and Lipstick peppers, brilliant red and sweet! Apple and Lipstick are superb, mild and sweet, non-bell peppers, and both are on our list of favorites. Both start out a deep green and eventually turn a brilliant red.

Beautiful sweet Healthy Sweet heirloom peppers. Healthy peppers are sweet, thick walled, juicy, and perfect for salads and roasting. They ripen from a pale green to yellow, orange, and then a deep red.

Stunning Corbaci Turkish Sweet Peppers. Although they LOOK a little dangerous, Corbaci peppers are not the least hot. They have a sweet, strong, and earthy flavor that is kind of addictive. They ripen from a bright yellow, through orange, and finally to red when they are fully ripe. Some of each will provide a rainbow for your salad!

Czech Black peppers! Stunning glossy black! Delicious at any stage. About as hot as jalapeños ...great for stuffing or stir-fry. Even Czech BLACK peppers are brilliant red when they are truly ripe, but tasty at all stages!!
