You Just Never Know
Events have changed plans for retirement in August, but sometimes things happen for the better. So a slightly earlier retirement has meant that since May 1st every day has been spent in the garden working to prepare for the coming season (all but one much enjoyed beach day). The physical demand is getting this old girl into shape quickly, and the end of the day is welcomed as well as a good night's sleep.

The garden, like the gardener, requires a little extra work to get it cleaned up and ready to produce. Neglected areas need weeding and soil replenishing to be prepared for planting this season. There are still two good weeks left to put in seed crops and transplant our seedlings into the garden. While there is some pressure to keep working at a focused steady pace to accomplish the plan, I think it is doable.

Returning to full time gardening makes it possible to sell more
produce. We plan to achieve this by producing more of what our long-time customers want, by reaching out to customers that we could not provide products to in prior years and by attending a new farmers market in South Paris.

Starting on June 6th from 2-6 we will be part of the South Paris Farmers Market which is held on Thursdays at 9 Market Square. Look for Ollie & David's in the former Bolster’s building.

This week we will offer spinach, mixed greens, asparagus, rhubarb, chives, thyme and radishes. We will have pick-up at the farm and arrange personal connections with other customers on Thursday for this week.

Embrace the season and eat your greens.
