As The Season Turns
This week we do not have mixed lettuce but hope to have some within a couple of weeks. Broccoli is a bust right now, the main heads were small and now we wait for the side shoots to produce. We have planted more crucifer plants, with good luck we will have a fall crop.

This is the last week for shell peas, we have planted snap peas but they will not be ready for a while. Sungold cherry tomatoes are starting to ripen and we hope to have them available soon. Last week for Mokum carrots until the next planting matures.Wax beans and green beans are growing but not near harvesting.

Peppers and some onions will be available in small quantities. Snapdragons are all white this year with a few volunteer colored ones. Sunflowers are close....maybe this week they will open for the market?

We are starting to harvest Salt and Pepper Yellow pickling cucumbers.
Celery should be available next week.
The mixed greens have a decent amount of spinach in them along with kale, romaine lettuce and swiss chard. Our herbs are beautiful and we are harvesting large quantities of three types of basil. Thai, Aroma (Genovese type) and Napoletano basil (Italian variety)

Raspberries did not deal well with the rain last week, we will see how it goes and if harvesting is possible this week.

We continue to plant more crops in succession in order to provide a variety throughout the season, and in order to keep all of us eating fresh healthy organic food.

May you have a lovely week and consume as much local food as you can.
