New and Returning Veggies
New this week are Purple Top White Globe turnips, Terek kohlrabi, dried bay leaves, and the last sunflowers to bloom for the season. Returning is Rover Red radish, these radishes are beautiful, uniform and the flavor is enhanced from the cool nights.

Another crop of Mokum carrots are ready to harvest, these are nice snacking sizes and have that wonderful sweet taste.

Our Joi Choi Pac Choi is beautiful with thick white stems and deep green tops. These will mix nicely with the deep purple leaves of Red Cloud tatsoi. Get out the cook books and look up those Asian dishes that use napa cabbage, pac choi and tatsoi.
The peaches this week will have white flesh and they are smaller in size. The trees were thinned but not enough to produce large peaches. We are down to parsley, sage and dried bay leaves for herbs, and this week every bag of peppers will have a red one in them.

If you would like straight cuts of dahlias, asters or zinnias in your bouquets just mention it in your notes. We have yellow, white with a hint of purple for colors in dahlias, the zinnias will be a mix heavy on the orange and purple, and the aster choices are pink, purple, white or mixed..

We have been without a tractor or tiller all summer, there is hope we will get back the tractor at the end of this week. That will make life much easier on this old farm girl. We have three apple trees that need holes dug, and a slew of plants that have been living in pots since last fall. The plan was to make a new garden area of berry bushes, willow bushes, daylilies and various other perennials. Hoping there are enough hours in the days ahead to accomplish that along with renewing the tulip/daffodil bed and planting the garlic. It is good to have goals.

Two more weeks of the South Paris Farmers Market, we hope you will visit us there and shop for some of the beautiful produce we have to offer.
